I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I loved this year SO much!!! Christmas Eve we get our new jammies on, fill our thermoses with hot chocolate, and drive around looking at the lights listening to Christmas music. Love this tradition! This year we also did Secret Santa on our drive and since it was a near disaster, I will tell you about it. Andrew dropped me off a ways down the road and was going to round the corner and park up the street behind their house (they live on a corner) well the first thing I notice is a huge fence with bolts on the gate, so obviously there will be no knocking and running... There car is in the driveway so I decide to open the door and leave it on the seat then honk and run hide behind a bush. Well they came out and started panicking because their door was open and lights on, I think they thought they got robbed! The dogs start barking like crazy and she ALMOST let them out to come attack the robber!! She finally came out and saw the present but by then the dogs had found the bush I was hiding behind and were barking like crazy at it. I heard her go back inside and I look back and I can just barely see Andrew's truck...he would have been hidden if I could have put it on the doorstep. I really hope she didn't look around too hard and make out the truck!! We will definetly need to plan our stealthy attack better next year!:-) These are some pictures from Christmas morning with all our loot! Ashton is a little glazed over because we woke him up and he was NOT ready to wake up:) We had so much fun with the kids this year, Gentri was really excited about her presents and Santa coming. She put on a dress Christmas Eve morning and I asked her why she said "Because Santa is coming tonight!" They are so cute, Ashton LOVES that bull! Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Fourth of July and a June Update!

We went down to Katie's on Sunday for Landon's blessing. It was so much fun to see everyone and visit. Katie prepared the best taco salads and hosted it at her house. My little family love it when we get to go to Aunt Katie and Uncle Lloyd's house. Bo was rocking out on the way home from Katie's house, so we had to get this pic of him dancing. He was being so silly.

We ended up going to Salina for the 4th celebration with some good friends on Saturday. We then went back to Milford in time to go to the Wunderlich's house to watch the big fireworks. It was so much fun. Here is Miley running around and watching the parade in Salina.

Casek and Bo met a boy named Marcus and they had fun running and playing with him. Here they are waiting for the parade to start. They gathered a lot of candy and had lots of fun.

I was lucky enough to coach both Casek and Bo's teams in baseball this year. Casek and Jex were in Machine pitch and both were on the Bee's team. Here Casek is playing second base.

This is Jex swinging away. He got a great hit and made it to first easy. He was quite the little player.

This is Casek ready and waiting for the pitch. I had so much fun watching this age group of boys. They were funny and some of the things they said killed me.

Cindy and I coached the kids T-Ball team. Here is the team pic from their last game. Loni Sue in in the pink shirt, Bo is the last one on the left, and JT is the third to the left.

Cindy is helping Bo line up to smack the ball. He LOVED baseball. He is into any sport in general. Usually when we get home he either gets football or baseball gear on and goes to "practice". He will go out and play outside for hours and pretend that he is a pro in some sport or another.

For Bo's birthday we went to Big Rock for a hot dog roast and to play. Uncle Troy ended up bringing the horses to ride. We had so much fun. I think we need to start doing it more often. We had cake, roasted hot dogs, made smores, rode horses, caught lizards and snakes, climbed Big Rock, and sat around and visited. Here are Kennedy, Kiley, and Miley. I can't believe how old Kennedy and Kiley are getting. Their dads are going to have to get out the baseball bats and clean the shot guns soon! What pretty girls!

We had rented the movie Flicka 2 and he loved it, so I bought him Flicka and Flicka 2. He was so excited and I can't tell you how many times we have watched it since he got them.

Uncle Ryan is teasing him that that was his present Bo was unwrapping, but Bo wouldn't have any of it. He would just smile and say no way. The kids all love Uncle Ryan's teasing.

Miley was terrified at first when she got on the horse, but then I got on and took her for a little ride. After that she loved it. She went riding with anyone who would take her. Miley is definitely an animal lover.

This has been our summer so far. We hope everyone has been having as much fun as we have been.

This past week my mom had a conference for school, so we decided we wanted to go for a ride while she was here. We called John and even though he was sick, he told us of course we could come down. Gentri had so much fun with Willow! Madison was so cute and led her around while Gentri rode, then showed her how to hold the lead rope and lead Jackson around. I think she liked leading more than riding:) Then we rode the "big horses" and had a good time. I hadn't been in a long time, I always loved to go riding with Grandpa. It brought back so many memories! Thanks again for sharing your horses, we loved seeing you too!

What's up with the Slacks

The last couple of months have been crazy busy with us. We have had some great times, and would like to share with you. H and L with their Pinewood Derby Cars. They both did really well.

Here are some Easter photos from out at Canaan.

L had a wonderful baptism. He loved how we dedicated this day just to him. He loved calling it his special day.

Being out to Moab for a family wedding, we decided to hike Arches National Park. We had a blast! Even little j loved hiking all the way to and from Delicate Arch.
Our motel was a hit with the kids. They loved the slide.

A couple hot dog roasts. Some how our freezer defrosted, and we had 10 packs of hot dogs that needed to be eaten. I think we had our fair share of roasts.
We had a few volunteer pear trees that had died in between us and our neighbor's home. We took a Saturday and cut, hauled and leaned up. It sure is nice to be done.
Soccer league for the three older boys. They all earned a trophy and had a great time while doing so.

Easter Fun!

Miley finally figured out the egg rolling and thought it was so much fun. But after a while she decided she needed to follow them down the hill, which wouldn't have been a good thing if she wrecked our awesome trails.

What would we do without Uncle Jake's talents of making the coolest trails for our eggs to roll down. The kids love it. Thanks Uncle Jake!

Miley had the most fun out of anyone out at Caanan. She wa all over the place and loved playing in the dirt. I think she followed all the dogs around and was in seventh heaven. If only them dang dogs would kiss her back! LOL

Casek was such a critter. Maybe he is just getting older and I am not ready for it yet. But this is the only pic I got of him during the egg hunt, well the end of the egg hunt. The gate opened and he was off. I didn't see him again until it was all said and done. So no pics of him searching :(

Miley didn't get too many eggs cause once she found her first one, she just like to rattle it around in her bucket. She thought it was pretty cool pickign them up and putting them in the bucket.

Our end masterpieces. Dying eggs was quite a treat this year. Miley liked to smash them faster than her brothers could dye them. Luckily we had extra. I loved Casek and Miley purple tipped noses. My kids definitely entertain me and keep me going :) But I wouldn't trade them.

We also celebrated Little Luke's birthday at Caanan. He is three years old and getting so big. Happy Birthday Luke.

PS Special thanks to Lloyd and Katie for letting us ride their fun toys. You made Casek's day with the motorcycle.

Here is my little one year old. We are having a party for her tonight at mom and dad's with a Strawberry Shortcake Cake. Casek and Bo are more excited than Miley is for her birthday. They are so tender with their baby sister.

Casek made Miley a car for her birthday. He cut up a cardboard box and taped some training wheels on it. He was so proud of his little creation. Miley loves to sit in it for awhile, but she would rather be chasing her brothers around.

Miley got an early birthday present yesterday by getting tubes put in her ears. She is like a whole new baby. Her ears were so full of infection that the vacuum clogged, when they were sucking it all out. She is a lot happier and moving like crazy. We are glad that she is feeling better and hopefully we won't have another ear infection for a very long time.

We want to wish Lincoln a Happy Happy Birthday too!

Grandma and Grandpa's Anniversary

For Grandma and Grandpa Slack's wedding anniversary, I took the 3 younger kids to the cemetery while the other two were at school. We talked about Grandpa being gone, and how much we enjoyed Grandma being around. I told them that it was their wedding anniversary, and that is why we were there for the visit. After quite some time Maddie said, "Mom, how long before Grandpa gets here? How is he coming from heaven to the wedding? I can't wait to see him. I just don't know how he can do it and leave heaven?" As you can imagine, I had some explaining to do. She was cute about it. We then went over to Grandma's house to give her some chocolates and flowers. It wasn't even 30 seconds later after giving her our gifts, and the kids had the chocolates open and half eaten. We enjoyed hanging out with her and visiting. I love special occasions! ..............................................................

Here are some pictures that grandma took of Thanksgiving Dinner in Milford. I heard you guys had a great time. Maybe next time we'll be hangin' with you. This year I was in charge of my side of the family. It went really well.

Grandma asked for a clean-up, so a clean-up we had. Thanks to all of you who showed up and participated in it. The lot looks so much bigger with things organized, hauled off, and burned. the food and the visiting was great too.

for grandpa's birthday this year we had family over to our house for apple pie. I love that tradition. Happy memories came along with it. The next day we went to the cemetery with grandma and had cake and ice cream. Going to the cemetery is a happy time for us. Lots of smiles and stories.

I've tried to teach my children respect for others and objects/things. We were all minding our P's and Q's and until I look over at Jack, and he was riding grandpa's headstone line a bucking bull. I about died, in fear of what grandma would think. She simply smiled and said, "I be grandpa is looking down smiling right now. I bet he is happy that you guys are enjoying his birthday." I needed to hear that. Grandma is so loving and understanding. How grateful I am to be a part of this family. Thanks to all of you.

We all met at Mom and Dad's and took pictures of the kids. Here is my Hunter Bo with Loni. My Cowboy Casek with Zombie Jase And my three little cuties (Casek, Miley, and Bo)

I let Bo dress up for Casek's Costume Parade on Friday. That day he wanted to be a cowboy.

Here are my kids carving Pumpkins. They had so much fun and I got lots of pics. Unfortunately, I was playing with my camera and deleted them all. Luckily I had emailed these four to mom, so I did have them. Miley loved it. She would dig in the pumpkin and try to eat the guts, then she would yell at the boys and the pumpkins. We had lots of fun (ecspecially with our powered pumpkin carvers)

Bo was such a critter. Those of you that know Bo well, know that he strips down to his underwear the minute we are home. It doesn't matter what time of day, if we are home he is in his underwear. He doesn't even mind to answer the door like that. He was pulling faces and having a blast carving the pumkins.

Casek had so much fun too. He is getting so big and hardly needed any help from his mom this year.

Casek's teacher (who we love) emailed some of the class pics she took of Casek and his class.

Deer Hunt/ Halloween

My parents entered the MTC today. They will be there just 10 days and then are off to the Dominican Republic. I am so proud of them. This is something that they have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. Hopefully someday John and I will be able to do the same thing. Just 547 more days and we will have a great reuniting.

This is what we all dressed up like for Halloween. We had a cowgirl, 2 bull riders, a tiger, a witch and a spider man.

Madison was a fairy princess for preschool. You have to love the changing of all the costumes. I think that is half the fun of Halloween....................................................................

I was in charge of a fund raiser for our school this year (last 3 years). It is a Spooktacular Fun Run/Walk. There is a Freaky 5K, a Monster Mile and a Spooky Sprint. L, H and C all one their age division for the mile and sprint. I was mighty proud of them.

Labor Day Weekend

The kids weren't in school Friday, so we decided to hike to Molly's Nipple. We went the back way, since we had little ones. We didn't exactly know where we were going, so we called Sharon for directions. When she found out we were hiking it, she too decided to join us. It was quite enjoyable, except for the heebie jeebies that I got from my fear of falling and dying from high heights.

Sharon took Harry and Lincoln down the front of it and hiked down. To our surprise they beat us back down into town.

H and L participated in the Peach Day's Rodeo. H rode a bull for the first time, while L did Muttin' Bustin. H rode for 4.5 seconds before getting bucked off. I was so proud of him.

There were 37 kids signed up for Muttin' Bustin. I signed up C and M, but they weren't one of the 20 who were drawn. L held on for dear life and ended up winning it. He was so proud. You should have seen his cocky little walk after receiving the coveted buckle.

Here we are watching the Peach Day's Parade. It was a good one. The kids got all the candy they wanted and we saw many people that we knew. One being Aunt Shelly. We were so proud to shout and cheer for her.

Over the 24th of July weekend, we had a reunion with my side of the family. It was held up Cedar Mountain, in a place called Deer Haven. It was beautiful and tons of fun. Here we are all.

We drove through Yellowstone on Saturday and saw lots of wildlife. And spent the night in Livingston Montana. Sharon went to church at the only ward their on Sunday. Then we went on the road to Uncle Bill's and spent Sunday touring their place. We stayed the night with Bill Grace and Alan. We took off Monday to Glacier national park and drove to the top of Logan Pass. We turned around and drove for a couple of hours and camped at one of the many lakes

Larry's Garden

The day grandma finally took pictures of the garden was the day Cindy decided to blow up the water slide in the back yard and invite everyone over. Always fun at grandma and grandpa's!!

The peas out of the garden were a great treat on a hot day of swimming.

Dad's been busy with his garden at his house too. Him and Chad have set up all the watering system using more recycled pipe and soaker hose.

These pictures were taken two weeks ago. The corn and tomatoes have really taken off since then!!

More home projects for Jen and Kasey

We decided to put a swamp cooler in this year since the house is already up to 85* during the day. We pulled out an old chimney hoping the cooler could run down the shaft.

Turn your head sideways!!=) This is in the boys room upstairs where the chimney ran through. We added 4 sq. feet to the room by framing this back in.

And decided the better option was to drop the cooler into the stairway!! Hopefully we will finish it up this Mon. and Tues. when KC is off work!!!!

Milford Community Garden

It is hard to tell from these pictures how huge this garden really is! Dad's ward decided it would be a good idea to do a community garden this year. One of the members donated his land for use out by the rodeo grounds. Dad recycled some old pipe from the pig farm for sprinklers and irrigation. The ward purchased the rest.

They've planted corn, tomatoes, beets, peppers, squash, peas, and red potatoes. Anyone in the community is invited to come and help maintain and all will benefit from harvest.

Dad and Mom have spent a lot of time and energy getting things going and making sure everything gets done. Even Chad and Wade help out a ton and have learned all about gardening!!

Jen's Family Camp Trip to Beaver Mnts.

We went camping to the Beaver Mountains this last Wed. and Thurs. We had to much fun!!! Kasey "rescued" a brand new baby duck that had gotten washed out of its nest. Since we couldn't find the nest we got to bring him home. He was so cute! Unfortunatlly, the altitude change was too much for him and he didn't make it in Milford.

The boys had fun hiking, playing in the creek, shooting BB gun's, and catching anything they could get their hands on.

The rocks were more slippery than Jase realized. He went waist deep into the freezing run off water and couldn't get back up!

With help from the dog and his little brother, Cole caught this baby chipmunk before I could even get the tent set up!!

Mama Mary's Cabin

We went to the ranch for John's birthday. We had a lot of good fun. John was especially excited when he shot a crow. Those darn things have put many holes in the screens up there, and left way too many poops on the front porch, benches and chairs. When he saw that crow fly over head, I had never seen him run so fast to get Aunt Jan's gun out of the closet. After one shot, down the crow fell. It was awesome.

Happy Late Birthday Bo

Happy Happy Birthday Bo! Bo turned 5 on June 25. He had a great birthday party, even though it stormed and more people couldn't make it then those that could come. We went to the park and had hotdogs, cake, and presents. We played there for a couple hours and then we rented the swimming pool for a hour. We had lots of fun and Bo was spoiled rotten! Bo is a little fish. Here he is trying to climb out, so that he could dive right back in.
Here are the girls. Loni Sue and Miley are the best of friends. Loni takes great care of Miley and is so cute with her. Miley loved her first swim!

Casek's Kindergarten Graduation (Better Late Then Never)

Casek Graduated from Kindergarten this year!!! He looked so dang cute singing and preforming a little skit. Grandma Susan and Grandpa Larry weren't able to go and watch, so they sent their camera home with us. Well I forgot to charge the battery up, so it kept dying. Well Casek insisted that I record the whole thing for Grandma and Grandpa. I had to keep changing the battery with the second one and sqeezing out all the power they could muster. When they finally crashed, I had to hold the camera up on him the whole time even though they weren't on. I put it down once, so that I could use my camera to take a picture, and he cussed me to get the camera back up. Luckily he picked the front row for us to sit on. Casek just got done with a little skit and was walking back to his seat.
Casek had to say a part on the microphone and then hold it for all the little girls sitting next to him.

Casek and his friend would sometimes watch their parents instead of the teacher at the end of songs, so they would stay standing when the other kids were all sitting. (It was so dang cute)

Casek is singing all about America. It was his favorite song.

I don't think I have ever seen a cuter Kindergartner. He was such a cutie. I love you Casek!

I just loved this shot and had to share. Calvin was helping us out by taking up one of our cows to the Auction. Harrison and Lincoln were invited to go along with he and his boys. We thought that we were getting rid of one of our animals, but when the boys returned home ten hours later with a couple of lambs, a little twist to life was added. Instead of losing a feeding period, we added five to it. Feeding lambs on the bottle is fun but has become quite the chore. Who knew?

This last Sunday was a great deal of fun. We traveled up to Milford for Cari's baby, Miley's blessing. Her daddy did such a great job. We were invited over to the City Office Building to have lunch afterwards. The food and visiting was great, but being inside the building felt like "winter" was in the "air". Many quickly ate their food and then went outside to hang out in the warmer weather. Our time spent up there was very enjoyable. We love being with family. Thanks to you all!

We had to stop in Minersville to switch kids around a bit. I looked up and saw this view. Isn't it beautiful? I love it!

Fun at Mamma Mary's Cabin

The family decided to take turns going up to the cabin to mow the lawn. After grandma, our family volunteered. We had an extra seat, so we invited Levi along for the fun. The kids had a great time exploring, building a tree house, playing soccer, making trains out of cards and just hanging out. We did love our short time spent up there and vowed we go back really soon...the kids are even planning on next week, so we'll see.

Family Home Evening

This last Monday a few of us gathered to refill the sunken trenches of the sprinkler line for Family Home Evening. Kirk rototilled the hardened dirt on the grass and others raked and shoveled it back onto the trenches.

Just like before, we had yummy food. The plan was to BBQ, but the little rain storm put out the fire and into the house we went.

Branding Calves

What a morning! J made a little corral that led into a loading chute, which then led into a squeeze chute. Both H and I helped J get the calves to where they should be in order for them to be branded and de-horned. It was quite interesting trying to figure things out without the help of grandpa. This was the first time doing it without grandpa...without anyone for that matter. J spent a moment on the phone with Jake getting reassurance to what he was doing. It was actually quite fun, and I was proud to be a part of it. Usually I am on the side lines, but this year I was need more as a helper than a spectator.

Grandma, I just heard you scream "No way!" I know, I screamed that too. Pick up your jaws, put your eyeballs back in your head, and chill out. We'll be fine. I just keep telling myself that. Yes, those hereditary twins are on their way. We're anxious to see if we have two more boys on the way, perhaps girls, or one of each. We'll be happy with whatever. Obviously.

When? You ask. More summer babies.Harrison and John will be joined with two more birthday's in the summer. End of August is our due date. This has been a really hard secret to keep. Sometimes. Other times it's easy, knowing the reaction I'm going to get from people.

So anyway, there it is. Baby one and Baby two...Loving April Fool's Day, I got you!!!

Have a great day. I'll have to keep track how many times I'm told that I have a "spider in my hair". Even worse, act like I'm scared every time.

Letting Go

In the last 10 days we have had to say goodbye to a couple of horses and a cow. The horses do to age, and a cow...who knows. Ten years ago I never would have thought that an animal could play such a huge part in a human's life, but have truly learned it first hand. Both Carter's and Lincoln's horses went to a better place. As Carter said, "a place where Grandpa could watch over them and get them healthy." He also said, "Sometimes we just don't know what to do for the animals, but Grandpa knows. He will make sure everything is better up in heaven." I don't know what we will do for family horse rides. I guess double up for a while.

Harrison's Pine Wood Derby

We looked on line to get a few ideas for Harry's pine wood derby car. He picked a very simple car, which made it easier to carve. Harrison took his turn carving and sanding his car.

There were 13 other cars in the competition. Harry had to race all of them. It was scored on a point system; receiving points for how many wins.

Harrison's car ended up taking 2nd place. We were all pretty stoked about it...especially Harrison.

Carter and Lincoln's Birthday Parties

I promised the kids that they could have friend party's this year. It was tough trying to find the time to squeeze them in, but we did. Thank goodness they wanted the same theme. Of course it was "cowboy". We played a lot of fun games.

The 1st being: The Great Cattle Herd.

The 2nd being: Treasure Find in a Haystack.

The 3rd being: Roping Wild Mustangs.

The 4th being: The Ribbon Pull (usually done on a goat.)

The 5th being: Snake in My Boots.

The 6th being: Stick Horse Races.

They had Root beer Floats and Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes.

We started to take the kids out for a date on their birthday. The boys wanted to go to Golden Corral this year. They loved the never ending ice cream. They both said that they wanted to go their again next year.

This year for their birthday they wanted a cake that looked like their Mama Mary's Cabin. I didn't know exactly how to do it, but we gave it a whirl. The boys were please with it, so that's all that matters. Another successful couple of birthdays and parties. We'll have to see how Harrison's goes in June.

After five hours of good pushing, and no results, both Cari and the doctors felt that something was wrong and decided to to do a c-section. Come to find out the chord was tightly wrapped around her neck and shoulder. Miley weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.

Grandpa's Closet

The other day I asked Grandma if I could borrow her new sewing machine to mend a few things (mine bit the dust.) She told me that I could any time and if she wasn't around, to simply look on the floor of Grandpa's closet and I would find it. I ran over to her house today, and found myself a mess once again. Who new that a closet could do this to me? It gets me every time. I swung open the door, and there hanging in the closet were Grandpa's jeans; pocket knife still in place. I couldn't help it. Tears began to pour down my cheeks as I looked, smiled and reminisced of what a wonderful man Grandpa was. Man I love him! Friday is John's and mine anniversary. Married 10 wonderful years. As I look back, I remember being a little apprehensive about being a part of the Slack Family. Not because I didn't feel the love, or that I wouldn't belong. Our family's were just so different. Sheer bliss. That is all I can say. This family is great! And really...who wouldn't want to be a part of it? And to think that it all began with such a wonderful man; that of Grandpa Slack. I look back on the day of his passing. I honestly didn't know how life was going to continue on without him. He was truly a daily part of our lives. He was so tender and loving, especially towards our children. They loved and idolized Grandpa. He was more than just a Grandpa to them. He was their exemplar...in every way. He was the perfect hero one could ever look up to and aspire to be like. My thoughts of Grandpa Slack are nothing but of sincere gratitude and love for him. My heart is torn between the loss of a great man, and the irreplaceable loving memories of him. I never knew that one could feel this way about their father-n-law...but now I say, "Who wouldn't, when Grandpa Slack is theirs?" I love that darn closet, and a part of me hopes that it will never change. I suppose I will have these tears once again. And for me, that would be okay.

Auction Finds

John took the kids up to the Auction in Cedar on Thursday. They sold Retard's calf, and returned home with two cows and five calves. We have found that the Jersey cow is really mean, and now don't know what to do with it.

The kids have been having a great time roping and riding the three bigger calves. I never thought that I would say this, but I LOVE being a small town farmer's wife. It really does have it's perks.

Sleepover with Jex

The boys had a great time having a sleepover with Jex. They were wondering if they could have one every weekend. They had a great time playing with train sets, watching t.v., and visiting with one another until 1:00 pm or so.

This is the lower pond at the field. Lincoln and Jex looked at it for a while and then drew up a plan as to how they were going to cross the pond and get to the island.

This is their drawing of the pond and island. They had a variety of ways they were going to make it across. If they made it, Jex said that he was going to stay there and live forever. All we had to do was throw some food over to him.

Jex and Lincoln first tried making a raft/boat, but they couldn't get it to float, let alone stay together.

Plan B...walk across one of the four fences that divided the water into quarters. They did what it took, and everyone made it to the island. Although more muddier than they began, mastering what they set out to do was worth it all.

The kids riding back to the house after Uncle John told them that they needed to work for a few minutes. No one liked the idea, but did it anyway. When bored, they asked to go to the house. Lincoln kept saying, "Jex didn't come to work. He came to play. So we're going home where we can play and dad won't make us work."

Jex, we would love to have you come and sleepover again sometime. All visitors are welcome at any given time. Thanks for the memories. Hope to make many more in the future.

Miniture Horse Rides

Jake made a special trip down to Hurricane to show off his miniature horse. Those of us in town truly enjoyed our visit with Jake, Judd and Jex. The rides were definitely a bonus. My kids could hardly get enough. I think we will have to be looking for a little horse of our own.

Jake gave Grandma a special little ride from Deward Wadsworth's home up to the cemetery.

St. Patrick's Morning for the John Slack Family

I took my children to my sister's home for a few days during our Spring Break. While there, Saint Patrick's took place. The kids made a trap, with a piece of solid gold at the top, sitting on the trap door. St. Patty's Day morning, the children found my sister's dinning room a little messed up. Those silly Leprechauns tossed the room up a bit. This is the note our Lucky Leprechaun left for the kids. The last picture is when the kids discovered that the Leprechaun had tricked them once again. They were not thrilled about that! For sure they thought that they had him Next year we'll get 'em.

Kelton and Kel had a joined birthday party today out at Canaan. There was a great deal of 4 wheeler riding, yummy hotdogs, chips, baked beans and pasta salad. Casek's Kindergarten Patriotic Program

Casek's Kindergarten class put on a Patriotic Program last night. It was at his elementary school. He looked so cute up in the front singing about our country. The class sang about five to ten songs about America and their teachers narrated in between. Casek is doing really well in Kindergarten and was real excited about his program. It was fun to see him up in the front. He is growing up so fast. The gym was pretty packed and the lighting wasn't very good, so my pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. I only got to video tape one song of him singing too. Beaver has three kindergarten classes, so there are a lot of students. By the time you pack all their parents and grandparents in a little elementary gym, you don't get to see all that well. I got to sit on the inside of an aisle, so I got to lean over enough to see Casek better. Doesn't he look cute?

Milford Boys Wrestling Tournament in Parowan 2/21/09

All the Boys went to Parowan for the tournament on 2/21/09. They all did so good. Everyone had some tough matches and worked hard. They had four man brackets, which ment all the boys in each bracket got a medal. Wade took third, Zack took first, Cole took second, Ty took Second, Dane took second, Casek took second, Jase took third, and Bo took fourth without even wrestling. Here are some pictures of Casek and Bo. We'll have to update and add the other boys pictures when we can.

A Visit to the Cemetery

While John was with Grandma in Milford, I took our children to the cemetery to reminisce about Grandpa. We had a good time talking about what we remembered and loved about him. Each one of us took an item that represented Grandpa to us, and then shared it with the rest of the family.

We took a couple bouquets of flowers to display at his grave.

We found that as one memory was told another was remembered.

We ended our visit by eating apple pie; Grandpa's favorite.

Harrison's Blue and Gold Banquet

Last night Harrison had his Blue and Gold Banquet for scouts. Each scout was to take a cake for the cake walk at the end (no auction anymore). The theme this year was USA. The scouts were supposed to pick a state and decorate a cake that represents that state. Harrison picked Texas, due to all the cowboys. We made a cowboy hat cake. When his name was drawn out for the cake walk, he chose a cake that represented Alaska. We ate Sloppy Joe's for dinner and had a great time!

Jen and Grandma went to Salt Lake on Tuesday, February 17th, to watch the Jazz play Memphis. We all worried that they would have to cancel the trip because it was storming, but as luck would have it, the weather lifted and they were able to leave Milford shortly after lunch. They got to Salt Lake early enough to eat and then got to the Energy Solutions Arena early. The Jazz won 117 over 99. The two hardy fans got back to Milford about 1:30 a.m.
